Arsenal could earn surprise transfer windfall should Man Utd sign Kim Min-jae

Arsenal stand to rake in millions should Manchester United complete a deal for Napoli’s Kim Min-jae, a fresh report has claimed.

Earlier this week Italian outlet Il Mattino reported United have convinced the centre-back to move to Old Trafford, with only the final details needed to be completed.

While transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since refuted the claim United has secured an agreement for Kim, the Italian journalist stressed United were long-standing admirers of the defender.

On Tuesday Romano tweeted: “Kim Min-Jae, on Manchester United’s list since December — but nothing is agreed or decided at this stage.

“The release clause will only be valid in July, Man United are interested while Napoli are still offering Kim a new deal.”

Kim has been key to Napoli claiming their first Scudetto in some 33 years, having featured in all but two of the side’s 35 games.

The South Korean international allegedly has a release clause just shy of £50million, and should United be successful in their pursuit of the Napoli star, it could benefit Arsenal.

Kim Min-jae domino effect

According to LondonWorld, Napoli are lining up Dinos Mavropanos as a replacement for Kim should he secure a move to United.

While the Greek international remains focused on preserving Stuttgart’s Bundesliga status, he will reportedly decide on his future at the end of the season.

Napoli are not the only club linked with Mavropanos. Indeed, Inter Milan reportedly view the former Arsenal man as a replacement for Milan Skriniar, who looks likely to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Premier League duo Fulham and Wolves are also said to be interested.

And according to LondonWorld should Mavropanos seal a move Arsenal stand to benefit. The player has a sell-on clause in his deal, having left the Gunners permanently last summer.

Transfermarkt values Mavropanos at £13million, and Arsenal stand to make a percentage of that figure.
